Anyone have any thoughts on whether to go with a single mower like a Kress, Husqvarna, or Nexmow M2 small mower for every single sports field or go with a larger unit like an Echo Robotics Unit or Ceora that can cover multiple fields? This is for a multiple field sports complex. It seems like a single unit would make more sense but having small units means they can operate at the same time. Wondering on operational efficiency and the best mower to choose. Thanks.
I think one small one per baseball/softball and single football/soccer fields. It it’s wide open fields with no fences or obstructions you could go with a bigger robot. Depends on power needs too.
I just wonder if the smaller mowers can keep up with bermudagrass in the summer. It seems their capacity really drops in the summer when the grass is harder to cut. But getting in and out of soccer goals. I guess what I am saying is that I think a bunch of small mowers would be better than a one to two big mowers, if they can keep up with the cutting.
Turf type is certainly a concern. I’m curious about the fjd rm21. I’m running it this year to test. Even though is smaller cutting width wise than a Ceora, is has a much more robust drive system and batteries. Only question I have is it being Chinese how long with it hold up?
Servicing would be my biggest concern. You have to have the distributor there to service the equipment or the slightest problem can be a huge frustration. Making sure they have the parts available and quickly available is huge.
I’ve using over 100 Husqvarna mowers on sports fields. I can answer your questions.
