I have looked at every kind of mower out there and with very few exceptions, the first cut from any small autonomous mower is not great. The problem a lot of times it the amount that needs to be cut and the density of the turfgrass. It really does not matter the species, but bermudagrass seems to be the worst for the first cut. Don’t panic! Subsequent mowing perfects the cut and then the mowers maintain that height. Remember, small autonomous are better described as maintainers compared to traditional mowing. They typically can only cut about 1/3 the clipping amount compared to a traditional mower. Just let them get adjusted.
